Unit Twenty-Two Carfield F.C.

When Carfield United lost their twentieth match in a row, the board of directors met to look into the club's problems. They went through the accounts and found that fewer supporters had been coming to matches. The club was beginning to lose money and the situation was becoming desperate. During the course of the discussion Alexis Dani's name came up. Though he was secure in his job as manager of a team at the other end of the country, he might just be persuaded to take over.
But then some clouds appeared on the horizon. It was known that Dani had strong family connections in the South and even stronger career ambitions. It seemed that he might just turn the opportunity down because it did not fit in with his plans.

Notes

COME UP E Dani's name came up during the discussion. This was not a scheduled event.
TAKE OVER ABCE They wanted Dani to take over the manager's job.
TURN DOWN ABC Dani would turn the job down, if he didn't want it.
FIT IN WITH AD The job would not fit in with his plans, as he had already arranged to stay in the South.
